Situated in Palm Beach County, Lake Worth is a city with an estimated population of 34,910. The area was initially called “Lake Worth” named from the body of water along its eastern border, but is now commonly known as the Lake Worth Lagoon. The lake was named after General William J. Worth, who led U.S. forces during the last part of the Second Seminole War. Its original inhabitants were a Native American tribe known as the Jaega, who settled on the section of the Florida Atlantic coast in the areas of Martin and Palm Beach Counties.

Lake Worth Street Painting Festival – The Lake Worth Street Painting Festival is a nonprofit organization that holds an annual weekend event, with more than 600 artists on the pavement, music on the mainstage, restaurants, shops, festival food court and bistro. All proceeds raised from the event will go to funding the Painting Festival scholarship and community projects associated with the arts.

Historical Society of Lake Worth – The Historical Society of Lake Worth is a nonprofit educational organization dedicated to surveying, identifying, interpreting and protecting Lake Worth’s history. The historical society promotes its significant architectural resource which includes the largest concentration of cottages in the state, as well as historic commercial buildings, parks, contemporary murals, and significant public art.
